QLUEB
Technology
The Qlueb Pilot Lite is composed of top-quality PLA from Polymaker. The fan housing (bottom) is a temperature changing material that will transition from purple to pink and is a translucent white when printed. The filter (top) is a glow-in-the-dark, rainbow material. Our Qluebs, like their owners, are beautiful and strong.
The electronics in your Qlueb are a readily available fan and female usb-c breakout board found on Amazon. Despite the relatively low airflow, your Qlueb should be able to filter a small room (10ft x 10ft x 8ft) in under 24 hours. With a Qlueb in every room, your home filtration system will be quiet and efficient.
The fan is rated to last 50,000 hours (at least 5 years).
To power your Qlueb, connect the USB-C port to a 5V power supply, like a laptop, monitor, phone charger, or external battery pack. The Qlueb is labeled for 5V 2A, but it will not draw nearly 2A. The 500mA USB-A port on a laptop is more than enough. The Qlueb Pilot Lite does not support Power Delivery (PD), which means that it cannot negotiate for 5V from a high-powered USB-C adapter. Use simple, low-powered systems to bring your Qlueb to life.
The filter used in the Pilot Lite is a MERV 16 material found here. This should filter bacteria, sneezes, oils, smoke, and other particulates down to 0.3 μm. This is on par or better than most HEPA filters, but will not filter out small, airborne viruses. During our testing, these filters readily captured the smoke from incense. Keeping a Qlueb nearby should help cut down on allergies and keep you breathing easier.
Drive
Air cleaners available today are over-loaded with features that often detract from the purpose of the device and drive the price unreasonably high. At the same time, these devices are made of low quality parts that break down after only a couple years of use. Ditch those wifi-enabled back doors into your network and embrace the future through the power of the Qlueb!
Eons LLC developed the Qlueb Pilot Lite as a new approach to air filtration. It is small, quiet, and simple while still being strong enough to give you the (air) quality results you want without getting in your way.
Our goal is to make effective filtration accessible by bringing our philosophy of open source collaboration to the world of air quality. Join us and set the Qluebs Free (as in Freedom)!
